Artist Spotlight: Sam Jones

Sam Jones a rapper from Lakewood, New Jersey, with ambitions of being the best, he strives to be different and to have his own sound. Being one half of the vigilante duo FAOD, he simply makes music about what he lives and sees. His choice of sound is music that an individual can smoke and relax to; but as good as he is he has no genre in hiphop.

David “Sam Jones” Marshall has an insatiable appetite for success & a relentless drive to make sure he gets what he wants. As an appreciator of music, especially Hip-hop, Sam Jones has gained respect for various forms & styles of lyricism from early on.

During his high school career, Sammy J. would meet up with other school yard lyricists who he’d eventually team up with later down the road. These artists would begin to spark Sam’s interest in pursuing a career in music himself. However it wasn’t until his first semester in college, where he met another inspiring group of versatile rappers, that the New Jerseyian would finally decide to focus on his own rap career 120%. In only few months he went from baby steps to being something to really watch out for.

Now representing the small Vigilante Group & Indie Label – I’mOnIt Records Ent. Sam Jones is determined to work his hardest and find his way to stardom.

Top 5 Vintage Sites

If you are a fashion lover, such as myself, then you like to think VINTAGE! Many people are skeptical about buying vintage clothing simply because of the quality or just the thought that "this use to belong to another person". Well I say get rid of all fears and just go with the flow. If you find something that looks good and its vintage go for it! One can go from spending $150 at American Apparel on clothes to spending $1 for a blazer at a local thrift store or vintage website. Think about it (:

Mens Suits: Fall 2010

Fellas, when debating on a new suit, first, research where you are going and which materials are most comfortable for you.

The fabric you buy your suit in will be on of the biggest factors in the price you pay, but selecting the right fabric will also play a big factor in whether you buy an investment piece or a one season wonder.

Cotton can make a beautiful suit, but make no mistake: it's best only as an informal or fashion suit and, unlike wool, is going to crease like anything. I find it best in colours which aren't black and grey, tending towards navy and tan. If you're looking for a good cotton suit in a modern, slim classic then look to Ralph Lauren's Black Label.

The clear favourite for suits, but pick carefully. I've seen some very expensive wool suits fall apart within a few years due to the cloth being a terrible blend. My personal preference is towards a super-wool, with a thread count somewhere between 120 and 150. I tend towards 150 as it's often perfect on both cold and hot days. If you live, however, in more extreme climates you'll need both Winter (200 thread count) and Summer (100 thread count) suits in wool.

So many men simply don't understand linen, and it's often those of us who have had the luck of a childhood in Europe that may ever truly appreciate it. But a linen suit can be perfect for those hot, humid Summer days. Shy away from it in browns, and wear it in colours such as white and cream and you'll stand out in a crowd of otherwise dull suit wearers.\

Polyvore: Winter Bliss

Let's not get lost in fall and forget about preparing for the winter! These trends also pertain to fall fashions, just to let you guys know. The main focus of this is the boot. This powerful combat boot/heel can be the center of attention with just the right accessories. I added the socks in the collage to give you all the option of going for the "socks w/ heels" trend. The fur and camel coat are also going to be very popular this winter. Oversized sweaters are a GO for winter as well.

The Legendary Yves Saint-Laurent

Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent, who died in June 2008 at the age of 71, was not only the most influential designer of the second half of the twentieth century, he was also the most mythic: a dreamy, fragile creature with huge eyeglass frames (he wore nothing else in one iconic portrait) and a private life in frequent disarray. As his onetime companion (and later strictly business partner) Pierre BergĂ© put it, Saint Laurent was born with a nervous breakdown. Hailing from French-ruled Algeria, the designer started his business in Paris in 1961 with BergĂ©'s financial backing. Saint Laurent was already a compelling figure, having been lionized as the savior of the house of Dior at the age of 21, and before long he was turning out couture collections—and then ready-to-wear, under the Rive Gauche label—that drew alternately aghast and enraptured headlines. The images from these vividly themed collections flash through the fashion history books like stills from a movie: the androgynous Weimar tuxedos of 1966, the midiskirts of 1971's reviled World War II show, the Cossack chic of 1976's sublime Ballets Russes collection. From the safari jacket and the peacoat to the famous Le Smoking, Saint Laurent's successes were so potent, they became absorbed into the common vernacular of late-century fashion. When it revived retro ideas, the house was in the vanguard of a trend that eventually became so mainstream that by the 1990's it was almost the only way to do fashion. By then Saint Laurent had largely retreated from the stage. Alber Elbaz and then Tom Ford tried their respective hands at a few ready-to-wear collections, while the couture operation was shuttered, to a sigh of Parisian nostalgia, in 2002. Today, however, the company is part of the Gucci Group, and chief designer Stefano Pilati is, shoulder pad by shoulder pad, reclaiming the house's rightful place on the cutting edge.
