Ever since the tragic passing of Alexander McQueen there have been questions about what will become of the fashion house. Gucci Group, who are the majority owner of McQueen's fashion house, have announced that for the moment the house will continue on without its namesake.
CEO of PPR (A Gucci Group subsidiary) Francois-Henri Pinault said, "the Alexander McQueen trademark will live on. This would be the best tribute that we could offer to him."
McQueen was said to be close to finishing his Fall 2010 collection at the time of his suicide. How his passing will effect the brand's future aesthetic is unknown; given his visionary take on what a piece of clothing can be, it's hard to know whether the brand can truly retain its appeal without him.
