Ancient Egypt — the land of gods and goddesses, Pharaohs and one very glamorous Cleopatra. This, along with early twentieth century hourglass silhouettes, served as the guiding inspirations for Elie Tahari. Combined, the two could have made for a strange concoction, but Tahari pulled the looks together in one of his most polished efforts to date. His sophisticated lineup included gold mesh dresses and skirts, delicate harem pants, a fine python print for casual trousers and sheer pleating details. Gold embroidery on linen jackets and accessories like tasseled belts enhanced the rich feel of the clothes, while slightly faded hues added a casual, elegant element to the collection
